Waste streams treated by 2ZLF

 

The 2ZLF plant is a complete plant treating and recycling both take wet or dry material. We have a range of Waste Codes on our permit which can be seen in the Systems & Resources page of this website. All feedstocks are all processed using our wash plant which was designed to be flexible and handle different types of waste. The water treatment is key in giving the plant this flexibility.

The waste streams we currently receive include:

ROAD SWEEPINGS

 

Definition : (EWC Code 20 03 03) Street sweepings (also known as street cleansing materials) are more mixed, drier materials including leaves, grit, litter, glass, oils, paper, plastics, and cans. They may contain heavy metals, other contaminants (e.g. road salt) and have high leachable organic content.

MRF GLASS

 

Definition : (EWC Code 19 12 05) Sub 100mm glass received from MRF’s receiving commingled waste. The rubbish washes away leaving clean grades of glass which are ideal for final optical sorting.
